Re: Masters 2011 competition!
I don't think I will be entering, I look at the masters work in SM all the time and think "I wish I could do that"...LOL
Re: Masters 2011 competition!
Yep no OTP's this year. I have never bothered to enter before. But contemplating it this year. You guys should all definitely enter!
Re: Masters 2011 competition!
Go on girls... give it a go ! You never know what might happen
I am surprised by the number of people who haven't entered in the past because of the OTP criteria... just remember though, if you do make it as a master, not all of the challenges given are layouts
Good luck to those giving it a whirl !!!
Cheers,

Re: Masters 2011 competition!
There are some incredibly talented scrappers here at Top 50 and it would be awesome to see "one of our own" become one of the Masters.
I'm not planning to enter though... I even chickened out on submitting a LO that Sue was encouraging me to send in to the mag for publication.
I think the self-confidence (or lack there of) in our own abilities to create something as good as some of the work that gets published stops a lot of people giving it a go...
And I know that there is that old adage of "nothing ventured, nothing gained" but sometimes I think that just sharing our work with our forum buddies here and elsewhere is daunting enough at times. But at least we know that here we are safe amongst friends and that we share the luv xx
That said... Good Luck to all of you who are braver than me - I would love to be able to read the Masters issue of SMB and say "hey, look it's my Top 50 bud ..."
xx

Re: Masters 2011 competition!
are you kidding Sue?
You are so talented (as are all the lovely ladies on this forum) so why not give it a go?
I will. I know my style isn't great but it's not hurting anyone to give it a go, even if it's only for a bit of fun.
Imagine if you did win how awesome it would be!

Re: Masters 2011 competition!
awww, you're sweet Jules, but I'm just not confident enough to have a go...I'll think about, how's that???
as for you Linda...I understand where you are coming from, but as I said, if you can handle rejection, then you have nothing to lose by trying. (I sent 7 LOs in the other day to get my one acceptance, and can't tell you how many other rejections I've had, but it doesn't bother me to get the "no" emails back.) SM gets THOUSANDS of subs, so I figure I am in very esteemed "rejection" company...LOL

Awww....thanks Joy, but I just feel that I am not quite up to scratch and that my work is a little inconsistent at times. Whilst I am happy with the majority of my work, I still have some LO's I look at and just go "NOOOOOOOO!". I think I would prefer a better hit to miss ratio before I did something like Masters...iykwim?

I would call the colours orange, teal & charcoal I think.
As for a double page LO, it is simply when your entire layout consists of 2 coordinating pages that go together to create the overall layout. (Does that make sense?) When creating a double page LO, I think the best thing to do for ideas is surf some blogs or look in the mags for some ideas on what makes a good double page LO. Hope that helps.
