October/November Double Issue 2011 Call Descriptions
Deadline: September 30, 2011
Scrapbooking Strut Your Stuff
Strut Your Stuff: In each issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, we spotlight scrapbook pages of any style and genre. We're currently looking for pages in traditional paper scrapbooking that feature a clearly defined style such as Clean and Simple, Dark and Industrial, Eclectic and Freestyle, Romance and Pretty Chic, Whimsical or Fantasy, and others just ripe for the picking.
Scrapbooking
Color of the Month – Purple/Lavender: How will you use purple on your pages? Projects can be of any theme or subject but you must use at least 80% of the “Color of the Month,” so think monochromatic color scheme with a couple other colors to balance it out.
Fall and Thanksgiving: Seasonal layouts are fun to create and even more fun to share. For this call, we’re looking for pages that feature fall and/or Thanksgiving themes but those using non-traditional colors will be given extra special consideration.
Grandparents: They’re such an integral part of our lives and they hold a special place in our hearts. Let’s honor and celebrate them with pages that are dripping with love, respect and joy.
Handmade Embellishments: They’re all the rage and they make such a unique statement on our layouts, as in “Hello, I made that!” Handmade embellies are a great way to add a personal touch and save a bit of money. Please indicate what on your project is handmade.
Hidden Journaling, Pockets & Tags: Sometimes we don’t want to broadcast our feelings to the world and hidden journaling is the perfect way to share but not make it obvious. And sometimes we just want to make our pages a little more interactive and fun by creating pockets and tags that hold notes and maybe even sweet nothings!
New Beginnings: Life is grand and new beginnings – whether positive, negative or so-so – are a wonderful addition to our albums. For this call, meaningful journaling will be given extra attention.
One Word Title – Miracle and/or Strong: Please note that this is a ONE-WORD-TITLE. This means that the title can only be one word and it must be the word of the month. We’re featuring two different words this month as this a double issue. Please do NOT combine the words in one title. One word only.
Scrap Your Stash – Office Supplies: For this call, please only submit layouts that feature office supplies on them – nothing else will be accepted for publication.
Travel & Vacation: Whether chock full of rest and relaxation or party time galore, we want to see pages loaded with your unique experiences around the world.
Sketch: The following sketch is up for interpretation as you see fit – you can create with it as-is, use bits and pieces or turn it on its ear to create a fun but still true to the sketch layout.
Cards
