August 2011 calls- Deadline is July 26th 2011
Oops Sorry I forgot to post these calls earlier. I remembered finally after seeing Alanna's publication acceptance.
Scrapbooking Strut Your Stuff
Strut Your Stuff: In each issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine, we spotlight scrapbook pages of any style and genre. We're currently looking for pages in traditional paper scrapbooking that feature a clearly defined style such as Clean and Simple, Dark and Industrial, Eclectic and Freestyle, Romance and Pretty Chic, Whimsical or Fantasy, and others just ripe for the picking.
Scrapbooking
Camping/Great Outdoors: For this call, we’re looking for pages that feature camping and/or the great outdoors in any interpretation you would like, from trips to just exploring in nature.
Color of the Month – Yellow: Projects can be of any theme or subject but you must use at least 80% of the “Color of the Month,” so think monochromatic color scheme with a couple other colors to balance it out.
From a Child’s Perspective: The world is a pretty crazy place for children and their takes on life often leave us in stitches. Whether focusing on journaling or just an awesome title, we want to see your layouts from a child’s perspective.
Just the Two of Us: We can make it if we try. Sorry, just had to go there! Submit your creations starring you and your significant other. Layouts featuring lots of journaling will be given extra special consideration.
On Stage: The world’s a stage but for budding ballerinas and dazzling dancers, it’s their chance to shine in the spotlight. Pages can include any type of sport or activity that is on a stage, including plays, musicals, debates, etc.
One Word Title – If: All layouts must include the word “If” as the title. No other titles will be accepted.
Party Time/BBQ: It’s fiesta time and we’re all about celebrating the good times. No matter the occasion, including family reunions and birthday parties, we want to see your projects!
Scrap Your Stash – Dymo Labels and/or Metal-Rimmed Tags: We wouldn’t be surprised if you have oodles of them hanging out in your stash and we challenge you to use either or both in cool and creative ways! For this call, please only submit layouts that feature Dymo labels and/or Metal-Rimmed Tags – nothing else will be accepted for publication.
Summer: It’s that wonderful time of year again where the days are easy and the living is fine. For this call, we’re looking for pages that feature summer in all its glory and even all its misery.
Cards
Bingo/Crosswords: There are so many cool products out there such as bingo cards and crossword puzzles and we’re looking for awesome ways to use them on cards.
Cartoon Captions & Monsters: There are a world of options at your finger tips with paper collections and stamps starring cartoon captions and monsters and we can’t wait to see your creative spin using them.
I Love You: Go on and say it – for the first time and the thousandth time. You know it never gets old and there are oodles of people who would love to hear those three incredible words.
Paper Tricks – Pleating, Weaving and More: It’s all about paper techniques, baby. Anything goes, except no fussy cutting, please.
Stamping
Please note that the following calls MUST use stamps. You can’t use patterned paper or embellishments for the following spotlight items, but you can use patterned paper or embellishments elsewhere on your card.
Stamping calls are not limited to just cards. You can submit stamped projects of any type.
Harlequins & Paisleys: What do you like to do with them? Show us your fabulous stamped creations for your chance to get them published.
School Elements: Don’t forget that stamping projects can include layouts and altered art. Don’t just restrict yourself to cards featuring stamped images of school elements. Branch out and try new things. You just might surprise yourself!
Summer Play: Beach balls and umbrellas, bikes and roller blades, sunny days and starry nights, it’s all fair game for this call.
Digital
Circles: Round and round it goes! If your digital or hybrid layout has circles, we want to see it.
My Summer Vacation: Summer - time for fun, sun and vacations. Show us your digital layouts or journals about your summer vacation and playtime.
Two-pagers: Don't be a one[page]-trick pony! Two page layouts look great in your albums and give plenty of space to document your story. Send us your two-page digital or hybrid layouts.
Style: Photo-less Pages: No photos? No problem! Photo-less layouts can document your memories just as effectively and beautifully.
