Re: What's Cooking...??
Well, for some reason Jorja has requested Lasagna for tea tonight!! It is only the two of us for tea, and she has never actually eaten lasagna when we have served it before, so this could be interesting!! I just grabbed a pre-made one at the supermarket and will grab some hot chips to go with it. She is saying she is hungry now, so i might go get it all ready and have an early tea so we are super organised!!

Ooo sounds great! and easy. Used to love having those when it was just me and Randall. He was younger then so we could share a serve lol No way that can happen now

OMG - that would of been perfect for the quote challenge......LURVE it! How old is she?
Ant, she's six (going on sixteen!!!).
This is the same girl who at age two and a half used to regularly announce that she didn't like any of the food we gave her and one afternoon in a desperate attempt to appease her I said tell Mummy what you WOULD eat then and I will get it for you... Her response... ""ummmm, two Donkey's please Mummy". I should've known back then that I was in for a challenge for years to come...

Oh that's priceless!
Mum caught my sister sweeping crumbs off the table and onto the floor one day. When asked what she was doing she replied 'the floors hungry'

Re: What's Cooking...??
When my big sister used to get caught hiding her peas in her pockets she used to reply that they were "in case she got hungry afterwards..."
I remember thinking... "Geez, you're crazy, I'd rather ask for a biscuit than eat cold peas from a pocket!"

Re: What's Cooking...??
We ended up having just plain old boiled potats but I ended up doing 'italian style peas', the only reason we call them that is cause the only ones that I know that cook them that way are Italian. The crumbed cutlets were yummy as expected and even though DH held the serving of dinner up it was actually pretty good. I have one cutlet left over Becci......you want it?
Re: What's Cooking...??
hahahaha - you put a tiny bit of oil in a pot, dice up some onion (I usually use half or one depending on the size) pretty small and fry it up a bit, just till it is soft, then dump the required amount of peas on top (I fill a small saucepan), add salt to taste, cover them completely with water then let them simmer till the water has pretty much evaporated(sometimes I have to add more water to get them to cook a bit longer) they are yummo......Retta - do you make them like that ever? Or is this an "Anthea family thing?"
Re: What's Cooking...??

Chei was really good again tonight with his vegies.... trying them all out - even bamboo shoots and water chestnuts.... miracles never cease!

Re: What's Cooking...??
I am really lucky - my kids eat pretty much everything - and I mean everything. The only thing they shy at is spicy hot food, and Matthew pumpkin....everything else they eat. Olives, seafood, avacado, vegies, meats, cheese (all types like brie and bocconcin and feta) artichokes, chocolate everything.
Re: What's Cooking...??
Vick, we always seem to have the same! Brielle & I had lasagne too, I had some frozen portions ready to go from a homemade one the other week. Saved me some time tonight!

Re: What's Cooking...??
Well - I managed to get some stuff in the slow cooker before I went to work...it was thrown in really...but it wasn't too bad. Some beef browned, some carrots, a thing of mushies, some fresh beans (and a couple of cups of frozen vegies for good measure - you know the peas, corn, turnip, and carrot one) and a bottle of beef in black been sauce and some water. By the time I got home it was cooked. DH then did some tatoes and we poured the the concoction over them and voila dinner....it was quick, easy, healthy and didn't taste too bad at all (not the best but not bad....iykwim).

Re: What's Cooking...??
oh thats great Chei wont eat pizza because of the "base" he'll eat the prawns off the top though hahha.... I LOVE the Garlic and Prawn Pizza from Dominoes.... YUMMMMM!!!! Ashan isn't a pizza fan though so we don't have it too much {although we have had a few times while here heheh}
Re: What's Cooking...??
