Today we would like to know all about a favourite food / snack / drink that's no longer around that you think should be brought back???

How about decent mixed lollies??? When you used to be able to get a really good bag of mixed lollies from the shop. The closest you can get these days is the Allens "Retro" party mix.
I also loved the old "Eskimo Pie" icecreams, when they were in the foil wrapper.

I'm with you Sue, we were able to go to the little local milk bar/corner store to buy mixed lollies. You could get 2 for 1 cent it was great. Also the "Eskimo Pies" were 6 to a packet and as there were 6 of us (4 kids and 2 parents) we got one each. It was a treat on a Saturday night occassionally. How about toffee apples, I haven't seen them for a while. Mind you I'm still partial to the prawn cocktail my Mum has the best sausce recipe ever. How about a cheese fondue and a chocolate fondue. Glad they are back in fashion great for parties. Vanilla Slices can you still get them? I know I could always make them. Can any one remember Jelly Tots, fruit gums and fruit pastilles? My Grandma used to have a packet of fruit pastilles with her in Church so that she could give us a treat while we sat there and to keep us quiet, mind you one day when I was really little I choked so that didn't work real well. It was ages before I was allowed to have another one.

OOOOOOHHHHHHH right up my ally!! I love these!! Bring back the original Fanta....the stuff they sell now may be called fanta, but its a far cry from what I used to drink as a kid!!!

There used to be an ice cream called FANG!! I loved it as a kid.

I'm with most of you that things just dont taste the same any more. I would love (but my hips wouldnt) the caramel buds,mmmmmmm or I know pineapple donuts. yummmmmm

i would have to say Milk bottles too, they just dont taste nice anymore.

I'm an eskimo pie fan too!! And your right, lollies just don't have the same tastes as they used to!!

I've never heard of eskimo pies! I don't think we had them in WA. We didn't get certain things over here in the 80s (eg; 7up the drink - I remember seeing it in Adelaide on holidays and I was so excited 'cause I had a mini can for my Barbie! Whatever!) I really used to love custard horns. You may be able to buy them at certain bakeries, but I never see them anymore. I used to love them and have them as a treat when we were out and about. For those who don't know, they are custard filled pastry rolles in a conical-like shape!

Whiz Fizz's were a favourite, of mine also the old candy necklaces and bracelets were so much fun to eat. I also loved the magic gum that crackled in your mouth. Those big long tubes that were full of different colour candy powder (oh the thought of it now makes me ill). I agree that the mixed lollies were WAY better. And - the best of all, but now so politically incorrect - fags. I loved them and I think although they sell them now, they are not allowed to call them fags and they dont have the pink end. Also the good ol' chocolate cigarettes were sooooo yummy!

I would definitely have to say the lollies. I am still a lolly fanatic (Sue can verify that!!!) I remember when we used to go and get $2 worth of mixed lollies at 1c each, and I'd have them eaten that day!!! And pretty much all the lollies Anthea said I was into also (still love whiz fizz!). Bring back those lollies, please ....... Mmmm, chalks, message love hearts, bullets, raspberries, racing cars, snakes, pineapples, mates (those caramel squares covered with choc), the list goes on. I want lollies NOW! (I'm salivating)

Ah, what about fun dips??!! And double dips! Yum ...

I think they should bring back the original Cadbury chocolate not the new one with more oil and less milk!
