Vicki's Technique Challenge!!

My challenge to you all this month is a little different! I have a technique challenge where i would like you to try ZENTANGLE!!! Yep, thats right, Zentangle!! I can hear you all saying, 'what the heck is Zentangle' and i did the same thing when it was mentioned in a 'getting to know you' post by one of our new members, but when i googled the term, i realised it was something i have been doing my whole life!!

What is a Zentangle? In a word, a doodle. A structured, contained doodle. If you goolge zentangle images (click HERE for direct link) you will find some amazing works of art!! I used to have sketch books full of 'zentangle' when i was a kid, long before it had a name! lol!!

So now that you have checked out all the awesome examples on google, i would now like you to have a go at this yourself. I have created a whole background for my example and have coloured it in. You can basically do what ever you would like on your layout, a full background, a small contained drawing, coloured or black and white. It is up to you, i would just like to see some Zentangle on your page!! And to be nice, that is ALL i am going to make you do!!

lol, ive been doing these as well my whole life, i do these little doodles when im on the phone stuck on hold to either a gov dept or the ph company lol........ glad to hear its got a name now. will get on to this soon, love your example layout, very funky looking

So it has a name! this is an awesome challenge, Vicki! What cool things we can do with an old idea. It's like a crazy quilt on paper. Great LO and I can't imagine how that chair ended up the way it did!

This challenge will push me way out of my comfort zone, but will give it a try.

I made a start on the zentangle for my layout. What fun!

Awesome Amanda. I think we will be back to using the gallery again. But Vicki hasn't had a chance to open folders yet. Hopefully she will pop on soon and do so. Im going to jump onto your blog to check out your layout. I have been working on mine- finding doodling very relaxing.

i dont have facebook......otherwise i would.........................i find scrapping to challenges is easy, because the basic notion of the page is already done for you

Oh ok fair enough about Facebook. Yeah challenges are great for inspiration. But Im still quite slow at getting layouts done. Unless I scrap lift one of my old ones- then Im quicker.

I've just uploaded mine to gallery. The zentangle element is not very bold or funky, but was fun and relaxing, with no idea what was going to end up on page.
