Re: Daily ramblings
WELCOME BACK SIS!!! So nice to have you back on board! I missed you TERRIBLY!!! (But you already knew that...LOL) Good luck catching up...
Re: Daily ramblings
Hey everybody, lets chat up an absolute storm so Mandy will have so many posts to catch up on, that she will never want to go away again!! lmao!!
Re: Daily ramblings
Hi guys! Hi Mandy! Glad you enjoyed Japan!
We live only 15 mins from the city (south of the river) but the storm was stuff all around here. I'm suprised at the footage on TV and stuff! We never lost power (then again - we haven't EVER lost power - must be an underground power thing!) and got some hail but that's about it. I just can't believe how extreme the weather is. Record dry spell, worst start to the year (in regards to rainfall) on record, then it doesn't finally just rain... it hails like buggery! I heard that we got 2 months average rainfall worth in just the one storm!
I hope everyone else is okay in Perth.

I was just watching the story on the news again now, am glad to hear that you guys were OK there, but Marelize's story sounded postively scary! They say the damage bill will be hundreds of millions of $$$'s!!!
Re: Daily ramblings
Yep my mum lives in Kallaroo and was hit hard by the storm.......she was blessed that she had very minimumal damage it was mostly to her garden, but lots of other people didn't get off so lightly at all!! I'm glad to hear that you are fine Chantal!! Take care lovely ladies
Re: Daily ramblings
Welcome back Mandy - hope you had a wonderful time - cant wait to see some pics and LOs.
Chantal - glad to hear you are OK too. It is funny how one part of the city can be affected, but not the other. Kathie, glad your Mum is safe too.

Re: Daily ramblings
Well after a week and a bit back in Adelaide to see mum and dad before they move to Alice Springs for awhile it is good to be sleeping in my own bed again! It is also good to be home with dp and my little dog! It was great to spend some time with family unfortunatley not much time with friends!
Havent been able to get on for a few days and was driving all day yesterday. My friends car, a diesel ford mondeo was sooo good on fuel. It used all up ONE tank of fuel!

Thanks guys! Yes it is strange, Anthea with the different suburbs. My uncle lives in South Fremantle and he only got some rain (no hail) and it was like nothing at all, like I said what we experienced was nothing major, my friend was parked at South Perth (10 mins from us) for work and got her car written off completely by the hail!

Hiya Mel,
good to hear you've had your first lesson I was the same with how I was taking the corners too but we all learn good luck with the rest of your lessons you'll do well I'm sure
As for me today I've been for 2 walks - I'm determined to lose weight once on my own & then with my dog.I've had today off from work so am catching up on housework I've neglected & am looking into doing further study (I've done a Bachelor of Social Science but am looking to become a social worker)

Have a lovely holiday Kathie - we will miss you!!! (It's SUCH a long time to be without a comp! ) Drive safe and I look forward to seeing LOTS of pics when you get back!
Judith, I hope you have a great holiday too, I haven't been to Mildura for a few years now. (Our stepdad is from Mildura and most of his family are still there, so we've done LOTS of road trips there...oh, the scenic joys of driving the Hay Plains...LOL) Also, let us know how DH gets on with his job too - fingers crossed for him!!!
Not much happening here - I've had DP home on hols this week (am ready for him to go back to work now...LOL). Took Brielle to a birthday party on Thurs morn for one of the boys from our mum's group (the first to turn 2...birthday season begins... )
Hope everyone else is well!

Re: Daily ramblings
afternoon all got an early mark from work today so got my bills/rent sorted out earlier in the day than usual. Had a quiet day working at the library Saturday as "Oracles of the Bush" was on, we had the markets & there were a few garage sales on. Sunday I worked at the motel - half the people in the units were staying overnight again so that made our work a bit shorter than normal for a SUnday. I'm dreading the long weekend as I work the whole thing.School holidays is worse time as guests check in wayyyyyyy BEFORE 2pm & get grumpy if their room isn't automatically done . Anyhoo I'm looking forweard to just spending a couple hours on the puter this arvo before I have to do housework
