Hi from Mount Gambier
Wow, it feels strange to say Mount Gambier!! We've just moved here 4 weeks ago, I'm Treens. Tasmanian born and bred and I spread my wings with my family (DH, I and 4 rug rats) for work purposes. I know no one here and am pretty shy in real life so don't suspect I will for a while so going to get back into my old hobbies, Scrapbooking being the main one
I'm a photographer so have hundreds of photo's stored and hundreds of thousands on computer ready to print LOL I'm keen to find new ideas and techniques - it's been almost 8 years since I last scrapbooked (wow, I feel old saying that!!!) so I'm sure a lot has changed and there must be so many new products to explore
Anyhoos, wanted to say Hi, and hope to get to know some people around the boards and pick up some ideas or three and hope to share some inspiration

Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Ooooh I can't bel;ieve that someone from Mount Gambier is active online!!! I'm a member of a few different parenting forums and so far I've found no one **happy dance** Sorry, I'm over excited because we literally know no one in SA!! All our family and friends are back in Tas, we only had 3-4 weeks notice we were moving (DH got a promotion) so has been a huge change from knowing everything and just about everyone from where we lived and grew up to nothing and no one LOL I don't even know how far the closest towns etc are LOL - it was a challenge to get the kids into school ROFL
Anyways I digress LOL - please ignore the above dribble hehehe We're in town, just off the Jubilee h'way, too close to Macca's for my liking hahaha It would be great to catch up some time (It's so weird walking down the street and not seeing a single familiar face - I'm dribbling again aren't I....)
I have 4 kids 3 boys and a girl, Aleks is 12 in 5 weeks, Kahli 10, William 9 and Domenik is 19 months. I'm sure you'll get pretty sick of seeing my kids in layouts once I get in the swing of things I am a profuse photo taker and take photo's of my brats with layouts in mind... probably not a good thing when scrapping to a budget hahaha Anyhoos - I'd better stop talking and get on with making kids lunches for school tomorrow (yaay!!!)

Hehehe Treens. Welcome - look forward to seeing your work. Hope you have lots of fun here and get to meet some new people in your new town.
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
LOL, i live out the west side of town, and have 2 kiddies - Jorja will be 4 in July and Brodie is 17mths!! You will be right once you get to know some people. You can see what i look like in my Avatar pic, so you can keep an eye out for me and the kids!! lol!! We will actually be at Macca's Tuesday at about 11.15 if you are about then, we could meet there!! We go there for a play after swimming lessons Tuesday mornings!!
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Thanks for the welcome Redant I'm sure we'll feel at home in no time and look back on these old posts and laugh at how insecure I am LOL - I'm dreading the homesickness feeling that we've been warned about - hasn't hit yet, but Mount Gambier feels a lot like Tassie... I still ahve to pinch myself to realise we're on the mainland and not up the back of Ulverstone or on the surrounds of Devonport at times - that's what it feels like here (so far)
Vicki - Tuesday sounds great!!! I'll have to check with DH who has that day off work but pretty sure he has nothing planned that wont take me away from town (hey I'm 300% certain he doesn't but have to make it look like I'm considering him ROFL) I'll more than likely be walking Dom in his bright red pram - look for us dodging traffic crossing the highway - could be rather spectacular hahaha

Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Treens, I totally understand the homesickness feeling. When I was 25 I packed up my life into 2 suitcases and moved to Canada where I ended up living for 8 years. I was always happy there, and in time made some friends that I will always love and treasure, and always miss now that I am back in Oz - but I was still always missing home - or more to the point, the family that I left behind. I am sure that with some time it will begin to feel like home and before long, you will know your way around like anyone that has been there for years. I hope you get to meet Vicki on Tuesday. I have never met her in person, but I feel confident in saying she is a wonderfully kind person who I am sure that you will love. Have fun and don't forget to fill us in with how your trip to Maccas goes.
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
hmm we were planning on a trip to Aldi in Hamilton on Tuesday.... we miss it.... lol
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
I was thinking of a scrappy day at my place soon too.... maybe Saturday? Ashan is going to Melbourne for a Photography job.... so he won't be around.... I WILL have the kids though....
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
LOL, thats a LONG way just for groceries!! lol!! Oh well, there will be PLENTY of time to meet up, and maybe Treena can join us for some scrapping at some stage!!
Matt will be on day shift sat, so i would have to bring the kiddies too!! At least they could entertain each other while we scrap!!

Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Charmane - Woohoo!! So happy to have some interaction with others around here It'd be great to catch up (specially with other camera people too - I'm sure all my friends back in Tas thought I was a snap happy nutter hahaha - BTW Nikon here... What's your poison?) Scrappy day sounds great - Nathan has Sat off work so could be kid free mwahaha - Although I can offer a 10 year old girl who adores entertaining youngsters (and never shuts up - I wonder if she gets that from me LOL)
Redant - I'm looking forward to Tuesday now - I promise to share all my new found knowledge on Vicki (bribe depending hahaha) We've always wanted to Visit Canada, I couldn't imagine not living in Australia though - I'm a bit too tied to her (australia's) Apron strings though... Mainland is probably as foreign as I'll ever be!! Nathan's here for at least 3-4 yours, and then for however long we like if we like it here Could be a permanent change at this rate. Even though it's still early days we're very happy and comfortable with our choise to re-locate
Vicki - How far is Hamilton (ok real newbie to the mainland showing herself haha) I'd love to join you guys for scrapping etc at any stage It's still a funny feeling that there's plenty of time for us to see and do things around here... we're still in extended holiday mose I think... One day it'll sink in that this is home Hopefully that will be soon!!!

Hamilton is about two hours away. Maybe just a little under. Its also 2 hrs to Warrnambool from here as well. (Both are in Victoria). We are central to Melbourne and Adelaide. Both about 4 hrs away!!
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Welcome Treena! I sounds like you'll be settled in no time (with half of the Top 50 girls living in Mount Gambier)!! Only kidding! It does sound like a lovely place to live if you're a scrapbooker. He-he Might have to see if DH can get a job there! Have a great day on Tuesday meeting Vicki!
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
ummm Nikon here too although I only know basics.... i always ask Ashan if I need to know the settings for anything
Hamilton is about hour and half if you go my dads backway heheh.... and Aldi has a few things that are a LOT cheaper for example NAPPIES {cheaper but still good quality} and a few other things too.... we miss it a lot!
