Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Well I will get this thread back on track by saying welcome Treena! I hope you soon feel right at home - both here and in Mount G! We are a pretty friendly, (albeit crazy) bunch here, so if that sounds like you, you will fit right in! I look forward to getting to know you and seeing some of your work!
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
sorry treena for taking over LOL! maybe we need a Mt G chat thread hehehe....
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Hahaha I don't mind about being taken over - it's very informative actually Charmane, We must live quite close to each other... Do your kids go to Mac park?? I'm not long back from dropping ours off (minus Kahli who decided she was just "too sick" to go to school - now riding her bike around the yard!!!)
Augh, stinky nappy, be back soon

Back
Charmane - Oooh The real estate agent mentioned we were quite close to the private school (Catholic) She didn't mention the name, I assume that must be it We're in Doughty Street- HUGE house that we love - so much bigger than anything we had back in Tas!!! Aleks is almost 12, Kahli 10, William 9 and Domenik is 19 months. When we were looking at schools we were told to avoid mt gambier north - we had to enroll before we got a house so went Mac Park because it was central to most of the rentals we were looking at - is Mt Gambier North really that bad? - it's actually where we are zoned for....
Soupie - Thanks for the welcome Feeling a lot better about being here in Mt G as well as this site - just knowing there are people out there makes all the difference, that probably sounds weird but we've been here heading towards 5 weeks now and I've not had much adult contact other than a hello at the supermarket checkout.... Nathan works at Kmart so has workmates and people he can talk to... Crazy suits me well Makes life all the more fun if you can be a little bit off centre LOL
Marelize- thanks for the welcome I didn't expect to see girls from Mount Gambier here at all - Like I said from all the parenting forums I've joined there's not much life, but here - it's amazing!!! I was certainly meant to have stumbled onto this site for a reason
Vicki - no need to apologise, hi-jack away LOL I just remembered we have a Dr appointment to get Williams school forms (anaphylaxis and asthma plans) tomorrow at 10.30am.. how on time are the docs at the surgery near spotlight? (sorry forgotten the clinic's name LOL) We're seeing a new Dr, hope she's good!!! It's taken 3 weeks for us to get an appointment - I've never had to wait that long to see a Dr before!!! I couldn't believe it when I rang to get the forms etc done for him - ah the joys of being new LOL

LOL, definately the joys of being new!! If you are seeing a new dr at Hawkin's Clinic then they shouldn't be too bad with being on time, and seeing as it is an early app, they should be ok. I always make my apps early there, otherwise you can wait for ages!!
Swimming finishes at 11 so by the time we are organised its normally 15 to 20 past when we get to maccas. We are normally there until about 12!!

Hey Treena, if you are free at 8pm tonight you should join us all in the chat room for our party night!! It can be a bit fast if you aren't used to chat rooms, but at least you will get to 'meet' some of the other ladies!! You can also join in the games - you will need to pick your bingo words before 8 tho. You can do that here: https://scrapbookingtop50.forumotion.net/may-2010-lights-camera-action-f109/bingo-pick-your-words-t2189.htm Hope to 'see' you there!!

Retta - thanks for the welcome - we're almost neighbours!!! Will have to work something out so we can all meet up when you come for your appoitntment We're planning a drive one day over the border - jsut so we can say we've driven over a state border - kinda hard to do that living in Tasmania hahaha - ahh the simple things that amuse us hey good luck with your new addition - Hopefully the next 15 weeks speed by and you have a great time in late pregnancy - great timing to avoid the heat of summer when you are the most uncomfortablist too
We shoudl definitely be there tomorrow in time to see you Vicki!! We wont be walking with the dr appointment though - so no oompa loompas pushing a red pram to be on the watch for The highway traffic will be safe ROFL I will have Nathan and William with me - oh and Domenik BTW are there any scrapbooking shops here (or just spotlight??) Where do you guys get all your gorgeous bits and pieces from?

Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
There is a store called PaperStash that has just re-opened. She was in a shop, but has re-opened in her house in Conroe Heights. She is only running it part-time tho, so it is only open limited hours.
There is also a store in Millicent (30mins drive west along the highway) called Millicent Photoworks. They have heaps of pp. There is also a store in Warrnambool (2hr drive) called Bliss. It is a small shop but has a lot of newer stuff.
Other than those, i buy most of my stuff online. There are plenty of stores to choose from and somebody is always having a sale!!

Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Oooh thanks Vicki - Might have to organise a few trips out of town hahaha... So what online stores are your faves - It's ok if you can't mention on here for certain reasons - there's probably a place here where people have listed their faves - I might need to go for a bigger wander around the boards
Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
There is also one here in Portland called Talk Scrappin. She has good range of pp(its not huge), embellies. As well as some tools and classes. She is in a shed across from her house!

Re: Hi from Mount Gambier
Hi there,
Welcome to the Mount. I've only just come into your conversation. Did you meet up with anyone from the Mount? Have you found yourself any scrap buddies?
I too am a Mount girl..although I came from Adelaide about 8 and a half years ago. I lovvve it here. I have three kids, Kiara 8, Harry 7 and Tom nearly 5. I found it hard when I first got to the Mount but funny enough I met heaps of people through scrapping. When Paperstash was open at the store I found a great group of friends. There are lots of different groups around town. I noticed a Mount Gambier Scrapping group on Facebook but I did not know how to join. Not sure if you have to be invited or not?
Hope all is going well for you. I would love to meet you and some of these other Mount Scrapping Gals!!
