SWAP IDEAS!!
Does anybody have ideas for any SWAPS you would like to do??
Is anybody interested in a stamped image - say 'Happy Birthday' - swap?
A Beutron Button Swap?
Another Ribbon swap?
A lace Swap?
Photo/layout Swap?
Throw in any ideas that you have or whether you would be interested in the ones mentioned, and we can get some more underway!!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
Maybe we could do another ribbon swap and each time we do it, start if off somewhere else with somebody else???

Sorry, i should actually explain things shouldn't i!!
Spotlight sells 'Beutron' brand buttons in huge bags. I'm not sure how many are actually in the bags, but they sell for approx $9 - $12 i think, and come in a wide range of colours and shapes.
Shabby Chic Bag Neutrals Novelty
So to take part in this swap, you would see what colours your local spotlight (or any other store that stocks them) has, then put your name in the appropriate thread with what colour you are getting, then you send them all to the host, who then splits each colour lot into the number of people participating, so everybody gets a bag back that contains some of each colour!!
Another way we could do it, if there aren't too many people in the swap, the host could buy a different colour for each participant and split them up and post them, then the participants could just pay for a bag of buttons and postage 1 way!!??
Does that make sense?
Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
Makes perfect sense! Very comprehensive answer, illustrated and all!
I like the look of the Novelty ones!
I'm going to check out Spotlight this week, I've got a $10 VIP voucher!!!
Yay!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
Lucky you Chantal!! I never get anything from Spotlight - i shop there all the time because i have very little choice - but i hardly ever even get their catalogues, let alone any vouchers!!
Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
I don't shop there that often, but I think it's something to do with the fact that I live only a 10 minute walk away. I like to browse in there after my DD2 has her Gymbaroo lesson (which is next door). I'm lucky to have alot of amenities close to my doorstep. Which is handy andy jackadandy!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
Mine is only about a 20 min walk if i can be bothered, or a 5 min drive if i can't!!
Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
Are you a VIP member? 'Cause you should be getting a voucher and junk too! I used to get heaps still before this one was built (it's 2 years old) and my closest one was in Fremantle which is 15 min drive. Ripped off!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
I can only think of one idea for a swap, it's a $2.75 swap. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it as the 50 cent one. But anyway, for $2.75 you can shove heaps in an A4 sized envelope as long as it doesn't measure any wider than 2cm (pretty fat!) and doesn't weigh any heavier than 500g (pretty heavy for scrapbooking stuff). Anyway, just a thought!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
Yeah i have been a VIP for years!! I even re-signed up and it didn't make a difference!!
Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
D'oh!
I'm thinking again... what about the envelope could start with one of us, and it does the rounds - a bit like the ribbon swap? Eg: If it started from me, I could fill it up with goodies (I'm not restricted too much by size so I can include larger items as well). When it gets to it's destination, the next person can tape an A4 sheet over the top with the new address and sender's address on the top corner. Even easier, all the participants have a page with their name and address on it inside the envelope with a number on the back, so the earliest no. is who gets it next? Okay, I'll shut up now!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
I like the A4 envelope idea Chantal....
I organised a brad swap once and it was good fun!
It worked with each person sending me one bundle of brads per person 'playing'.
So if 5 people played, then 5 people each sent me 5 bundles of brads (in the one envelope, usually 55c depending on size). Then I sent one bundle from each person, to each person playing... Everyone ends up with 5 bundles (including a bundle they contributed...)
Clear as mud?
it could certainly be done differently, thats just what worked for us at the time.

So true!
Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
I got another idea - a $1.10 swap!
Real easy - two 55cent stamps.
A4 envelope.
Like the ribbon swap (a bit) but whatever items you remove, you replace with your own stash and it does the rounds!
Just another thought anyway!

Sounds like fun! I don't have many brads at the moment though. If the bundles were small then I'd be right!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
hi all,
love the idea of the envelope going around to each person,
and also love the idea for the button swap of the host buying the buttons and saving us all some postage... as the bags weigh a bit,
but how would we get money to the host ?
from new member - bindi johns

Hi Bindi, welcome to Top 50. Any swaps where money needs to be exchanged would be done thru direct bank deposits!!
Have you seen the flower swap that we have running this month? Your welcome to join in if you want, there are still a few spots left!!

Re: SWAP IDEAS!!
ummmm.... i like brads and eyelets..... but its so hard to buy mixed one's its usually one colour only what about a swap with everyone buying 1 colour.
ooooo and i love everyone embellishments they have been making soooo much but sometimes im not in the same group... how about a showcase of what you make then everyone in the swap places an 'order' of what they want (does that make sense???)
