Sarah's terrific twine challenge
Happy June 1st to you all!
Ok I have a scrappers confession for you all...... I love to buy different coloured bakers twine but I very rarely use it
So I decided to set this challenge to use up a bit of my twine and to motivate others to do the same.
As twine really is very versatile and can be used in so many ways.
So my challenge this month is for you to use twine in at least one of the following ways;
- a frame of twine on your page somewhere
- a embellishment made out of twine
- or a title made out of twine ( or alphas covered in twine)
Please note if you don't have twine feel free to use string, thick thread or yarn.
If you are stuck for ideas just do a google search There is much inspiration out there. I have seen twine used to create frames on pages and photos, twine and a glue pen used to create title words made completely out of twine and multiple other embellishments made out of twine.
Here are some closeups of the way I have used twine on my layout (my apologies for the dull photos- it is overcast here today):
You can give chipboard alphas some great texture by covering them in strips of twine:
A cute and cheap embellishment can be made by cutting a scrap paper circle and gluing twine in a spiral too it. Add a button in the centre for added cuteness
Give an old embellishment a makeover by covering it in twine. I grabbed an old kaisercraft wooden flower and wrapped lots of twine over it, covering the chipboard. I then added a button to the centre.
And here is my example layout in full:
I hope you like the challenge and give it a go.
Entries for this challenge need to be uploaded into the correct gallery folder by Midnight June 30th.
The winner of this challenge will receive an awesome product pack from D-Lish Scraps!! http://d-lishscraps.openstores.com.au/

Re: Sarah's terrific twine challenge
OMG Sarah!! I LOVE this!! I normally just tie the twine across the page, but you have some awesome ideas!! I definately want to give this a try, and will prob then be purchasing more twine too!! lol!!
Re: Sarah's terrific twine challenge
Thanks Vicki x Yep I have only ever really used twine curling it or tying it across the page too. And I normally only ever use standard jute twine. Never all the bakers twine I have.
So I found this challenge great for getting into the stash and thinking of new ways to add colour and texture to the page.

Re: Sarah's terrific twine challenge

Mmmmmm still in the important developmental stage.
In other words, haven't got a clue which photo to scrap or what twine to use (none in my stash). But I will have something done by the deadline. How many weeks..I mean days do I have ;-)

Re: Sarah's terrific twine challenge
LOL Annette.
You still have until Midnight June 30th for this one : )
Fell free to use sting, thick thread or yarn instead of twine.
