Sue's Theme Challenge Empty Sue's Theme Challenge

Post by Soupie Thu Sep 01, 2011 9:46 am

For my challenge this month, I couldn't go past the fact that (here in Australia) this Sunday we celebrate Fathers Day. So yes, you guessed it - we are going with a MASCULINE THEME!

You don't necessarily have to scrap about your dad, but you do need to scrap a layout about an important ADULT male in your life. This could be anyone - granddad / dad / uncle / hubby / adult son...heck, even the postie if he's that important to you! LOL Just no "little boy" layouts! Wink

In addition to that, I would also like you to include:
- at least one "non scrap" item and
- at least one button

Here is my sample layout for you...

Sue's Theme Challenge Out_fo11

Entries for this challenge will need to be uploaded to the gallery by midnight, 30th September.

The winner of this challenge will receive a prize pack from....Lovelybug Bits n Bobs (AKA...ME!!!!!) Very Happy (DEFINITELY worth scrapping for, wouldn't you say? Wink )
If you haven't seen the full range of products available, pop over HERE and check them out!

A 'non scrap' item would be any item that is not considered a traditional scrapping embellishment. Think stationery items, recycled packaging materials, items from the garage, etc....just think outside the square!!! Wink

(You can see on my layout I have used a jeans pocket and also a bulldog clip.)

Love this challenge! My sons call me the trash-picker for grabbing items that should be thrown away for use on my LOs! I love the fact that our seasons and holidays are the opposite of yours because it makes for a wonderful change of pace. It is the beginning of our Fall and our Father's Day is the 3rd Sunday in June! BTW, Sue, I love the recycled items you used. Great example!

My LO was actually inspired by one I saw done recently. (If you pop over to my blog, there is a link to it there.)

I can't wait to see some interesting items on everyone's layouts!!! Wink

PS - make sure you take plenty of pics of your "important adult male" today if you get a chance, they will be perfect to scrap for this challenge! Wink (And remember to keep the kids out of the photo!)

I didn't get any pics of Matt on his own on father's day, just some of him laying on the couch with Jorja and Emma (Bj was in the bath)!

I do have a photo of him in mind for this challenge tho, just have to print it off when i go to town tomorrow! Smile

My subject if my oldest son. I used buttons on the strip journaling. My non-scrapping items are a piece of corrugated cardboard and a paint sample strip from Dutch Boy paints under my title.
