"Business" names.
Hello lovely ladies
I know quite a few of you sell your handmade goodies and whatnot, and I am thinking of venturing into something similar - selling cards and whatnot. I'm curious as to how you have all come up with your "business" names... as I am struggling to come up with something "catchy". Have been throwing around a few ideas with the boyfriend, but am looking for some tips
Thanks

Re: "Business" names.
LOL, good question Lani!! I have used my surname, Burdon, as inspiration for my 'business' name! My hubby's nickname growing up was 'Burdy' so he thinks it is hilarious that i have opted to use that, lol, also, he is a COMPLETE bird nerd, so it kinda just had to be, with the 'Burdy' and the birds on my header!!
Re: "Business" names.
Mine came from my love of ladybugs and a pic I already had for a logo that I just adored.
First you need to define exactly what you will be selling, see what other names are already around, and if you need a good starting point, try something that is a play on your name.

I love the colour lime so I know mine had to have something to do with that. Plus I love how other businesses combined a colour with an inanimate object so wanted to try that.
I sat here with a couple of good friends and threw some names around. Barb came up with Lime Tree and I loved it straight away.

Mine too is a play on my name obviously...well my nickname anyway. I another idea that I loved but that would of limited me to pins only and I knew that I would want to try something else before long.
I was playing with ideas and I thought I could spell fancy as fantsy. I just played around until I came up with something I liked...then I checked it out with a few people and they all loved it...so hence a little bit fANTsy was born.

Thanks for the tips ladies!!
Love your suggestion Becci, and I have been trying to combine a colour with an object... have a few ideas in the works
At first I will just be selling cards I think, but I am trying my hand at handmade embellies so want to be able to sell them as well. Also, thinking of doing some BTP items and things like that. I have no idea really! Just a little venture I thought I might delve into!!
Would love any other tips you lovely ladies can share as far as starting it all up goes. The thing I am most worried about is postage!! I have NO IDEA how the aus post system works!! And I don't want to be "that" annoying customer at the post office who has a trillion questions and no idea what they're doing!!

if only we had an emoticon that involved middle fingers...
instead I will have to settle for this lame version of what I want to express>>>>>
anyone who knows anything about translations though, will know my name actually means HOT STUFF, KICK-ASS CHICK or just plain old GODDESS, depending on which dialect you are referring to...

Re: "Business" names.
I had a dream last night... what do you think about:
"Penguin Parade"
It's a bit silly I know, but it popped up in my dream. Then subcategories...
Penguin Parade Cards
Penguin Parade Embellishments
Penguin Parade Gifts
...
Okay... it sounds a little silly. Honest opinions though?

Re: "Business" names.
i like it alot alana
It sounds really cute !
And dont be scared of aust post - thats their job and most of them are really helpful anyway with regards to postage i found.
i have a market venture - i sell preloved baby clothing at baby markets here in Vic when i can, nothing flash and sell on ebay as well from time to time. its called Jack and Millie.
My daughters name was Millie and Jackson was a name we both loved and were going to call our son Dawson. We like unusual names hence the Dawson and Trinity. Ones where one thousand kids dont answer back lol..

I had a little play Ant came up with such a huge list for name my Linda Maynard.
Some of them were pretty "Out There!!!" but one of the less risque was:
Mandarin Lady - which in the scheme of things isn'too bad, especially some of the ones that involved "anal rim..." as part of the complete phrase!!!
Re: "Business" names.
Bahahahaha Linda!! I must go have a play cos your name sounds like it comes up with some good ones!! My name doesn't come up with any!
At least you are in good company with Sue - Bum Pulse and Matt - Random Butt!! lmao!!
