Blog followers

i was just wanting to ask for some advice. some of you i have notice have got a nice group of followers on your blogs, and I was wondering if you had any tips on how to get my blog out there and getting some more followers?

I had a giveaway of my crochet.

Can you make anything to give away once you reach a certain mark?

I did mine at 50, about to hit 100 now and my next post will be 100, so will be having one very soon!

It has taken me ages to get the ones I have got so I don't really have any tips. Sorry.

I've been thinking of doing a giveaway but then wonder if people are really there to read and support me or just for what they could get for free - sorry if that sounds a bit negative, I think I've lost a lot of faith in myself of late....

TREENS don't say that! Chin up...hehe think we have all been there I think the most important thing to remember is why you are doing this...the bonus is getting some positive feedback along the way! I do know what you mean though & I have thought of doing the same with a giveaway, but came to a similar conclusion.

BTW Treens - I don't follow you for free stuff. I just love your work and want to see what you can inspire me with next......I also love the way you write and love reading what you have to say. I'm just an emotional hormonal mess at the moment - always a victim to hormones **sigh** bring on menopause (oh shoot me, did I really say that!?!?!?)

Oh Treens you so shouldn't feel like that. I love to read both your blog, helps me to get to know you better.
But I do know what you mean though.
I guess mine is up a bit as I run my 'shop' form there too, so not just scrapping.
In the new year I will have a separate blog for my craft wares though. Have the blog, have the email, just waiting on a friend to do me up some graphics

Sadly I can relate to this too only this weekend my DH found me in a blubbering mess after a school dinner out...any other time of the month, the comments that upset me would have rolled right off me. It's during these times we have to be extra kind to ourselves...& when we forget, come in here & get a little boost

Personally I love reading everyone's blogs...everyone has a unique way of seeing things, hehe sometimes I think I spend too much time reading & not doing!!!

Beke, I pick up a few followers here and there and mine is hovering just under 50 at the moment. (A giveaway definitely in order when I hit 50, so probably try to get it organised when I get home next week...hmmm...maybe some buttons! ) I think the best way to pick up followers is to get around to other blogs, leave positive feedback for people, follow others (I know I try to reciprocate to all mine), giveaways are always good (who doesnt love bribery...LOL) and generally just get out there around the traps and make yourself known. A bit of shameless begging for followers never goes astray either!
Don't worry too much though, it's very early days for you and I have found it takes ages to build up numbers.

I only have 5 followers and the last lot of post only have one comment, I'd love to know what people are thinking of my stuff, who knows maybe oneday I will hit 10 followers and they will start to leave comments, we all like to hear a little feedback sometimes apart from the usual 'hmmmmm, looks good' from my husband who says it in the same tone everytime which really means I don't care can I go know? but he knows better than to say it out loud LOL!!!

But hang in there You will get some more followers, and not because of a giveway but because they like your stuff and are interested in what you have to say.

Don't worry Sam, i have 28 followers and they only ever comment on my blog when i haven't blogged for ages, saying 'Yeah you have blogged'!! I don't get comments on my actual layouts!!
