My fave memory from when I was a kid would have to be our trip to the snow. We took a couple of days getting there, spent 5 days at Bright and Mt Buller, then nearly a week coming home.
The unit we stayed in at Bright was lovely. Two storey which was pretty special to us. And the best thing was the heated tiles. My brother and I used to lay on them.
Oh and the little brooke that ran behind the units. We used to race sticks along there.
Then there was our first day up the mount and we could work out why every one was walking real hip. I said they walked like Fonzie (I was 7 lol). We figured it out the next. They were wearing ski boots and you can't move your ankles!
Lots and lots of memories from that trip.

One of my fave memories as as kid would been going to Vic's house which we did quite often. Swimming in the pool, playing in the cubby, going down the paddock, fishing (I caught an eel which Vic's dad ate ewww) playing pool. There were lots of fun things to do there.

I don't have one fave memory of my kids, they are all so special.

Hmmmm... so many fun memories to choose from...

But one of my favourites is how I dealt with being told I was too little to have a skateboard like my big brother and sister had...

We lived on at the bottom of very steep street and all the big kids would ride their skateboards down the hill qnd it looked like so much fun!!!

One day I decided to take my Barbie Campervan to the top of the hill (which came off a very busy main road) and ride it down to the bottom.

I made it all the way down without falling off and received rousing appause from all the neighbourhood kids...

Needless to say, I made mutliple trips down that hill and had the big kids lining up for turns to ride the Barbie Express!!!

Omg Linda was it one of those big yellow Barbie camper vans? I had one of those and I used to be able to sit in it and fly down the hill.

I always wanted a barbie bus (and a barbie pool)!

My favourite memory of when i was a kid is actually a strange one seeing as it isnt very pleasant but it makes my family laugh and thats why i love it.
Anyway my 2 older brothers and i were digging a new garden when i went inside to get a snack. I was about 7yrs old. I got some chocolate biscuits and left them with my brothers while i went inside for my cup of tomato soup. I came back with the soup and started eating the biscuits (the arnotts family pack kind). My brothers were in hysterics ROFL and i couldnt understand what was so funny. Eventually they had to tell me that they had put worms inside them and i had half a worm hanging out of my mouth. Not Happy Jan! :pale:
But it doesnt end there. After I brushed my teeth clean and came back to drink my soup and they cracked up again. Yep, the little buggers had put worms in there too. Needless to say I have not had tomato soup or those biscuits again!

I have so many great memories, but one that I will always remember is our big move. we lived in a small country town Euroa, Vic and we moved over to Perth W.A to live when I was 10 years, we drove over, towing our new home (well for the time being) a caravan and all of the treasures we couldn't leave without (which was not a lot) it was our new family adventure. A new city, new school, new house, new friends new everything, it was really scarey but also a wonderful new adventure for our family, one we will never forget. We lived there for 20 years only returning to Victoria a few years ago, but my boys where born there and we still have family there and it's a great place for a holiday LOL!

Oh dear....you want me to pick just one???? Shocked

I think I would have to say that sitting around the campfire with my Mum, Dad, sisters and anyone else who was there is one of my favourite memories.....Now it is the same thing but with my kids included in that group. There is nothing quite so relaxing as sitting around a beautifully warm campfire on a cool night singing songs and laughing.

We only really had one family holiday as kids, as mum and dad were dairy farmers, anyway, we drove from Princetown (right near the 12 Apostles), Vic, to Caloundra Qld for Expo 88!! I don't really remember a lot, but from the photos and memorobilia that we still have, looks like it was lots of fun for all of us!! Smile I was only 7 at the time!! Smile

My sister and i used to play this game called concoctions! Since i was the older sister (by 5 years) and obviously old enough to know the what the word concoctions meant i should have probably know better than to be so silly ROFL ...

So we'd grab a cup, shut the bathroom door, go into the bathroom, one person would wait outside. The other would fill the cup with a mixture of things like shampoo, mouthwash, handsoap, toothpaste etc. Thankfully my mum had the sense to keep anything too dangerous out of there. The other person was meant to "drink" it. Game always ended with someone pretending to drink it. Or someone taking one sip and spitting it out.

The crazy things kids come up with! Certainly has made me wary of having child locks on my bathroom doors Very Happy
