Ch 3: Anthea's non-journalling challenge. Empty Ch 3: Anthea's non-journalling challenge.

Post by redant Tue Aug 31, 2010 10:47 pm

With Father's Day this month it is only fitting that we have at least one challenge that focuses on the special men in our lives. I have chosen a LO based on my DH and his love for our sweet daughter. You could make your LO about your Dad, FIL, Uncle, Grandfather or basically any male figure who has been a part of your life.

I have chosen to scrap a photo that I have previously scrapped, that I was NEVER happy with, so I am including both LOs. I would like for those of you that can to do the same, but for those of you that can not (and I understand that for various reasons there will be at least a few of you that can't) I would like to see a new technique included on the LO. In my example I made some flowers that I was taught how to make on the weekend by the lovely Kathie.

I have also used a photo that 'tells the story' and included no journalling - I would like you to do the same. I also used the colour pink in a 'male' LO and I would like to see some non-traditional colours used on the LO.

So in summary, for this challenge I would like to see:

1. A LO based on a male figure in your life
2. An old LO rescrapped OR a new technique on your LO
2. Use a photo or photos that tells the story (you are NOT allowed to journal other than a title and a date)
3. A "non-traditional" male colour scheme

Here is my before photo which I scrapped in my very early days of scrapping

Ch 3: Anthea's non-journalling challenge. Shower12

And here is my LO for this challenge.

Ch 3: Anthea's non-journalling challenge. Shower13

Hope you have fun with it and can not wait to see what you produce. .

The winner of this challenge will receive a $20 store voucher from Bon's Scraps!

All entries are due in the gallery by midnight Sept 30th! Smile

Hmmm I'll have to use a new technique... I don't have any old LO's that would fit the bill... and more specifically none with a male father figure in at the very least.... but lots of new techniques learned on the weekend - that should work for me Wink

Hehehehe - we can't make them too easy ALL of the time. Wink

Even though it is hard - I don't think there is a single person in our group who won't come up with something brilliant!!!!!

That my dear question is the million dollar question!!!!!

It really is up to your interpretation. I would suggest that a blue and green combo is out - or black and grey, - but blue and pink or pink and grey would be OK. But that is my opinion only. Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

Hard one hey. Pink would be in for sure, or even purple, like a regal purple would be cool I'd think. Hmmm got me thinking now, but doens't really go with the pic I wanted to use, but that's easily fixed.

Ant, I noticed you have scrapped your LO in exact same style, but different colours & added a few extras, is this what you mean for your challenge, or can we do a different LO with the same photo as the old LO Very Happy
