lol you haven't heard any songs on the radio etc from that time period...i know at the moment the Beatles are getting played quite often due to the release of their albums once again

I don't listen to music much!! I normally have constant background noise from ABC Kids!! At the moment, it's Chuggington, Chugga, Chugga, Chugga, Chugga, Chugga, Chugga, Chuggington!!

I'm really useless at knowing who sings what song and when they were sung!!

Mine is into Play School - so all I ever hear is "Open wide, come inside, it's Play School" & that used to be on in the 70s when I was a kid - does it count? No - I didn't think so.

My favourite song from this time is "Happiest Girl in the Whole USA" by Donna Fargo - not exactly retro - but it was a country hit in the early 70s.

And my line - ummmmm - I'll go with the first one....

"Good morning, morning. Hello Sunshine. Wake up sleepyhead" And no - I am not kidding - this REALLY is a song.

Oh! I love that cupcake!!! I love that era for music!!! Good times, good times (so I hear!!!). My favourite song would have to be "BORN TO BE ALIVE" by Patrick Hernandez;

That's amazing!!!

You know I remember seeing the clip from the old show "Countdown" (a re-run obviously!) of "Born to be Alive" and it was so hyper! Everyone had leotards a la Xanadu and they were cutting sick!!! Good old fashioned fun I say!!!

Yep, it's a great little number. DH and I were actually singing along to it in the car the other day . . . . (he has the car radio on the 'oldies' station.

Well there's a reason why heaps of songs are ripping off these 'oldies' hey?!

Oh yeah! I can hear a bit of "I'm too Sexy" by Right Said Fred in the new Sugababes song and also Ladyhawke's new song.

Yeah!!! Even Eskimo Joe's song "Sarah" is ripping off "Never Ending Story" by Limahl (where it goes "Emergency"). I always thought it and then it was confirmed on an interview cause the band love the movie. I love the song though - and I love the movie too!

And what about the band names? They are getting inspiration from 80's movies now, like "Ladyhawke" and "Empire of the Sun"!!!

Does 80's count as retro? I think it may just scrape in there technically... I love the 80's!!!

Early '80's does.....not so sure about late 80's though!! Who cares at the end of the day its just a bit of fun for everyone!!!!

Wow, didn't know any of that (going to have to have a listen now, LOL) and yes I'm an 80's child too! Teeny bit of the 70s!

Well I thought I may as well go with the 70's seeing as I was born smack bang into the middle of them...but I can't pick just one song!!!

One favourite is definitely Stevie Wonder's "Superstition"..."when you believe in things that you don't understand..."
Or The Beatles "Let it Be"..."whisper words of wisdom, let it be..."
Or The Eagles "Hotel California"..."some dance to remember, some dance to forget..."

(Oh, I'm also with Judith on Bohemian Rhapsody - another total classic!)

OK, I'm going a song from my birth year of 1978 ... You're the One That I Want. Love Grease, love Olivia NJ, love John Travolta (Sue and I used to call him bum chin!). We always dreamed of being in the pink ladies and having our own pink jacket (the closest we ever got was our denim jacket!) My favourite line would be the "Oo ... oo ... oo .... honey" and my favourite movie line would be "tell me about it ... stud".
