Challenge 1: Sue's Technique Challenge
Ch 1: Sue's technique challenge - using transparency.
This month my challenge to everyone is to use a transparency!
This item will preferably be something you have made yourself, either by stamping or printing with your computer onto a transparency sheet. You could also use rub-ons (thanks Becci!)
In addition to your transparency, you are also going to need to include the following criteria:
- something green
- the word "happy" (either in your title or journalling) and
- at least 2 bows
If making your own transparency isn't something you have done before, never fear...it's very easy!
If you are going to make one by stamping, you will need "Staz On" ink (or an equivalent solvent ink), as otherwise it won't dry. If you are going to make one using a printer, just make sure you buy the right transparency sheet to suit your printer (eg, ink / laser). You can usually buy single sheets from your newsagent for about $1.
I have also been reminded by fellow DT member Kathie, that there are many similar materials that can be used for stamping, not just transparency sheets. Try the plastic out of toy packaging windows or look in your next box of chocolates (one brand uses similar plastic to keep the choccies separated). Its just a matter of looking!
If you are really struggling with making your own, I will allow a "store bought" transparency, but please TRY to use something homemade, as that is what the spirit of this challenge is all about!
Here is my example layout for you...
The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 store voucher to spend on the awesome kits at What Is Old Is New!!! Mel really has some YUMMY stuff in her kits and they are always great value, so be sure to check them out! (The new June ones have just been posted up, so be sure get in quick!)
Entries for this challenge will need to be uploaded into the June Monthly Challenges - Challenge 1 folder in the gallery by midnight, June 30th!

I don't have anything to use for a transparency and there's no store near me or stayz on ink. I'll have to sit this one but can't wait to see what you all come up with

Do you have any ziplock bags or anything like that?? They are transparent!! And you don't have to have staz-on ink, you can draw with a texta, use rub-ons, or even paint!! It doesn't matter what you actually use, as long as it is transparent!!
Re: Challenge 1: Sue's Technique Challenge
Aura - Like Vicki said, there are many ways you can improvise! You could even try using the dreaded "window" from a bill envelope and just pop some rub-ons onto it! It doesnt have to be anything too big or too technical, I just wanted everyone to try something they might not usually do!
Re: Challenge 1: Sue's Technique Challenge
Aura, check out the all clear packaging in your pantry, or have you got anything
clear cellophane & pop some rub ons on to that maybe

Re: Challenge 1: Sue's Technique Challenge
Aura have you got a newsagents near you, they usually sell the sheets too. Or even ask at the local school. They'd use them for overheads.
Sneaky Kathie, think you've got a simialr idea that I had.

Don't be to hard on yourself Aura, I am sure everyone here will tell you that they learn new things from other scrappers all the time, I know I do! I am always seeing things and wondering why I didn't think of it myself...
Don't worry, the next time you have a brilliant idea, we'll all be nicking it from you!
