Detour 1!!!!

Just checking; does the Detour have to be a separate layout from or can the criteria for this be used in the Stop 1 page?

Every stop/ detour etc are separate challenges and can not be combined!

Nice Challenge Ant and lovely layout.

I am really liking this layout and the challenge. I was worried for a moment and thought we had to include all 3 listed components but using only 1 makes it more achievable and way less scary. Now I know exactly the photo I'm going to use but how I'm going to scrap it remains uncertain.

For some strange reason I thought this had to be finished by this Monday just gone, will now get on to this one...

Wowsers girls. Your LOs are so inspiring! I'm really enjoying seeing how everyone has tackled the detour. I've just finished mine, so I'll pop it up tomorrow.

All the LO look so good. Yet to make a start on mine been busy with making party bags, pass the parcel and princess cake for Isabels 5th birthday party tomorrow.

Ooh annette. A princess party sounds like fun. Would love to see some pics - especially one of the gorgeous b'day gal.

Eek ! Used up the last of my magic mount sticking crowns and skull'n'crossbones to party bags. Have done almost no housework today, just too worn out. But I do have a great hubby who understood #1 priority for today was to do Detour challenge....and I pretended I couldn't hear the motor-racing on the telly

Uploaded We had big storm and blackout for a while and I was a bit worried I had left it too late.

I was going to do a nice romantic page and include a letter from my darling, back when postage was 20c. But I found a thank you letter from a young japanese girl we had stay with us and I knew I had just the right photos.

Loved the challenge, because it got me to scrap some photos that had sat in the box for years, and were NOT about my adorable grandkids - for a change.

Detour dealt with - I'm off to Russia

Here is a photo of the cake, dress was a marble effect of pink and blue (my daughters suggestion - just like in disney's sleeping beauty where fairy GM's keep changing colours) It blended a bit more on the blue side but Isabel loved it. Have never made the mudcake recipe with apple juice - always use whiskey. This kids version was alright but adult version is definitely better. Can't believe I forgot to give princess a tiara

Boys came as pirates. Always a big hit, and easier than dressing as a prince, as there had already been a couple of pirate birthday parties during the year by her pre-school friends

Didnt have a good photo of Isabel before eating lunch, bouncing on castle and going on treasure hunt, so her face paint is a bit smudged and hair a mess. Just the way little girls should look if they are having fun at a party, particularly their own. My grandson makes a good pirate I think.

Wow annette that cake looks gorgeous! You did a great job! And the birthday girl looks very excited!
