Glimmermisters... Empty Glimmermisters...

Post by Soupie Fri Sep 10, 2010 12:39 am

to all the glimmermisters out there...
what do you do to combat the buckling of cardstock when using glimmermist???

do you usually:
1. do nothing (like me...LOL) and just deal with buckled cardstock
2. flatten your cardstock back out by weighing it down under something heavy?
3. iron it?
4. spray the reverse side lightly with water prior to spraying the GM on the front?

what do you find works best for you???

I just deal with it buckled as well!! I can't be bothered waiting for it to dry, let alone waiting for it to reflatten!! LMAO

ROFL Ok, I'm not the only lazy / impatient one then...
(although last night I did weigh my cardstock down overnight and it has come up pretty well today)

Hehe Sue...it depends for me, I usually let it dry & then weigh it down. I do tend to play with various backgrounds at once, ahead of time. Though like you, I have an impatient streak & simply scrap it buckled...soon flattens out in the album. Wink

Well I have been playing with tim Holtz inks this week and using my glimmer mist as well, and I used the iron - amazing how it dries and flattens in one go.

Although if you use a heat gun to dry it does buckle then flatten once completly dry!!!

Sonia, what do you put over it when you iron it? (I don't use the iron for any other purpose so might as well get some use out of it! LOL)

I have a cheap $14 dollars at woolies, iron just for craft - so nothing, it is a teflon iron, and the dye just wiped off onto the towel, i use as my ironing mat...just a craft one so i don't care if it gets the dye on it.
