I've been looking thorough magazines and online and there's a lot of advertising on embossing and cutting machines. I'm wondering if anyone has them and are they worth investing in? I can imagine the alpha's would be handy... I'm working on getting an early Christmas list to prepare hubby with mwahahhaa

Oh and if so what would you recommend?? Considering he's asking for a $400 gift, I think he should be spending the same budget on me Smile

It really depends on what you want and how often you use it. Treens. I have the cuttlebug and love it. If you like to try it then you are more than welcome to come over or vice versa. Alternatively if there is a shop that you can try them at go and give them ago! Are the "machines" worth getting??? Icon_biggrin

I have a cuttlebug that i use a lot for embossing cards. I don't cut much with it cos i think the dies are too expensive! Smile That being said tho, i have just ordered a Cricut Expression, and i can't wait to get it!! Smile

LOL, he is a bird nerd, and needs it to incubate the eggs!! Most of the birds will hatch out and care for their own young, but some that we have are notorious for looking after the first egg they lay, but none after that, so we will take those ones to incubate and raise!! Smile

Oh - that is cute.....no way near what I was thinking! Are the "machines" worth getting??? Icon_eek

Birds are notoriously nasty animals for that arn't they? I saw a documentary on birds when I was heavily pregnant with Matthew and I was sobbing like a baby by the end of it when I saw how the smallest bird gets picked on and pecked at by the others and then pushed out of the nest and left to die and the Mother bird doesn't care a bit. *Phew take a breath now* It was trully awful - or was it the hormones...? I seriously was crying freely by the end of it - very disturbing! Are the "machines" worth getting??? Icon_sad Are the "machines" worth getting??? Icon_sad

Yeah, it is heart breaking when you see all the baby birds, then you find one dead on the floor of the aviary!! Sad

Hmmm I didn't get a mothers day pressie (we were too busy re-locating) I wonder if I can put an order in as well Wink LOL

I know what you guys mean about baby birds... My dad used to breed budgies - Nothing like the gorgeous things Vicki has in her yard, but still can be quite vicious to their babies...

Sorry for hi-jacking your thread Treens, but here are some bird pics Ant!! Smile

Ok.. so this is our pet Quaker Parrot 'Holly'! We used to have her in the house, but we have recently put her out in the avairy and got her a boyfriend 'Alex', who is actually blue in colour, so hopefully when they have babies they will throw some green and some blue! We will handraise their babies as they are worth quite a bit!! Smile
Are the "machines" worth getting??? Holly10

We also have King Parrots. This pic isn't actually of ours, cos i couldn't find any pics on my lappy, but this is a male king. The female is all green. Our male actually died a couple of months ago, so we have since bought a young male king, which is also all green, but should be bright red by this time next year!! Smile
Are the "machines" worth getting??? King10

And these ones are the green cheek conures that we had raised last year! You can see the size difference in these pics! Smile We have the parent of these outside, and they actually bred 11 young last year, in two batches!! Smile These were the first birds we have ever handraised, and i had to feed them every 3hrs, while also doing the same with Bj!! I was very busy!! Smile

Beautiful pics Vicki. Paul and his family used to have birds, they went out one day only to come back to find some wanka had gotten into the yard and slit the throats of all the birds in the aviary. Are the "machines" worth getting??? Icon_sad Some of the birds were quite expensive, they had cockatoos and budgies and other Australian Natives. They never got birds again after that! Now tho I am thinking of closing all the windows and turning the heater on, it is absolutely freezing. Shadow is hanging for a beach run but with the rain, I might give it a miss for today!
