The Great Baby Naming Debate.... Empty The Great Baby Naming Debate....

Post by Tygrays Thu Jan 06, 2011 11:22 am

has already started here **sigh** And I think I'm regretting an agreement that Nathan and I made when we first fell pg - that was he name the boys and I name the girls... I've pretty much been able to 'guide' him into safe waters, but this time he's being rather stubborn - MEN!!!

HELP!!!!!

lol he's come up with some doozies this time, mostly from sci fi movies so I'm pretty certain he's pulling my leg LOL

Anyhoos... any suggestions for boys names that go with Aleksandir, William and Domenik?? Our girls name has been set ever since William was on board so no worries there... but finding another boys name when the family is drowning with boys is kinda hard LOL

Oh names we can't have..... ready for it??? LOL

James
harry
brock
logan
kaidan (I had almost talked Nathan into Caelan but apparently that's too close to this one now)
lachlan
troy
nathaniel
thomas
michael
colin
robyn
timothy
david
christopher
andrew
mark
adam
matthew
skipp

Oh I'm sure there's more that have already been taken by family - I just can't think of them at the moment LOL

Let me have it - suggestions that i can try to put Nathan onto another track with please!!!!

Oh last night he decided he liked Oskar... it's ok, but not sure if I love it enough to use it for my baby - oh and we're looking for names that are reasonably traditional that can be shortened into nicknames Wink

FYI - girl will be Erynn Paige Neveah

I hear you, we have 2 boys Joshua and Noah and I find boys names harder than girls. A few names that I like are.....

Darcy
Tanner
Oliver
Wyatt (Noahs middle name because Steve wasn't as fussed)
Foster

Proberly not a great help because everyone has such different taste LOL!

Oh I absolutely adore the name Oliver!!! but Nathan said flat out no to it even though it was on our list for consideration for Domenik Sad If I had my way we'd be looking at Oliver Caelan....

Oh another one off the list is Sebastian... **sigh** So many names, yet we're stuck already hahaha

OH! Sebastian was the other name I was thinking of, Very Happy
It is so hard to pick the right name I think, I had a list with both the boys but when it came to meeting them none of the names on the list seemed right, and we went in the complete other direction LOL! ROFL

I used to watch all the credits roll at the end of a movie or show to see if anything jumped out at me when I was preg.

Me too!!! ROFL All our babies have been named before they were born - I don;t think I could do it any other way!!! Dommy's name was the 'latest' that was named, he was going to be Sebastian but when we went to Melb for his 3d scan there were people in the waiting room talking about naming their baby Dominic - and it kinda stuck with us too Smile

Ahhh this shouldn't be so stressful LOL

we haven't told the kids yet - will probably after all is still good come the 12 week scan Wink I'm preparing for another boy - if it's a girl I'll be thrilled but don't want to think that way yet... BTW we were told William was 99% to be a girl - they were kinda wrong there LOL

for the record Treens, I like the name Oskar and think it works well with the other kids' names. Very Happy
But if you aren't happy with it, at least you guys still have plenty of time to debate about it.

ROFL Sam! I used to watch the movie credits too for inspiration, but after compiling lots of lists, we ended up going with Brielle Rose - the name I had stuck in my head for over 10 years...and that was before I even met DP!

wow so many people having babies at the moment. I had the same deal with my husband regarding names that he names the boys but we never had a girl. We both agreed on william from the start for our first son but when our second came along we were still debating even after he was born. We finally settled on jordan which was quite funny as it was on our no list because we didnt want any J names so william didnt feel left out (everyone elses name starts with J). Check out the meaning of names too. William means 'to will him' and I think i have been willing him ever since with no success.

I'm really adamant about names with meaning or reasons behind them - it's one of the reasons our kids names look a little left of centre Smile I feel it makes it all the more special

Hmmm Oskar is better than some things suggested, like Mikka, Adama... oh there's more, nappy brain kicking in!!!

Ethan and Eli are great names hehehe
What about Nathaniel? That was on our short list with Eli

I can probably get used to Oskar - I much prefer Oliver though.... There's plenty of time to work on Nate though - maybe he will bend to the ravings of a mad pregnant wife mwahahaa
