You will love them Alanna! Very Happy

And Kathie - I don't promote something I don't like Very Happy . I really like these....! Way better than any other albums I have - and some of them I paid a HELL of a lot more money for than $20.

thats the normal price at my local lincraft they just put 'special' tags on them to make them look like they are on sale. its their normal online price too. Wink

I usually get my sleeves at Big W - I think they are about $12 for a 50 pack.

Quick question, since we're interregating you about these albums Kathie...

Do yours have a spot in the front for a photo insert etc like the Lincraft ones or not?

Hope you're getting lots in... seems like you're going to have a few hundred orders Wink

I prefer the faux leather ones. All my albums are that kind and are all either light pink / hot pink / light green. Don't do any special orders for me, just get whatever you normally would and I'll check them out when you have them in.
Do you charge extra postage for posting albums seeing as they are quite big & bulky? (I know a lot of sites have put this clause in effect.)

I love the little hole at the front of the albums. I haven't yet...but when I get enough to have an album for each person etc...I plan on doing a really mini LO to slot in there!

That's dodgy of them to put special tickets in front of things at their normal price! I was wondering why it didn't say how much i was 'saving'!

I use the AC 8.5x11 D-Ring albums - so hard to get now!!
I was really lucky and Suzanne from HBS, got a few different colours in and I bought almost all of them (they were 25% off). Filled most of them up already

Re: Albums......

Post by Guest on Fri Jul 15, 2011 7:17 am

I bought post bound albums to start with as I didn't know about the D ring ones until I started going to classes around 9 months ago (I know, the first 9 months was a pretty sheltered scrap life! for me). Being i'm a bit OCD I bought mine from KMart as they came in lovely boxes so I had this wild idea that i'd be able to just stack them all up. Then I learnt more and more and piled on lots of pretty flowers and goodies and so am limited with how many layouts I can fit in an album as they get so thick! I am pretty smart about it though, when an album is looking a little thick and like it won't fit many more layouts in it or fit into the box I tend to hold off on the thick layouts for the last few to fill it then start a new album.

The other reason I bought those albums was because they were faux leather and had a lovely insert at the front for a photo. They had the same albums in nice black boxes but with two types of photo inserts so I have 8 in total which is 4 of each type so used one type for Album 1 then the other for Album 2 then back to the first for Album 3, etc. When I start a new album I make up an insert for the photo insert part at the front and I keep with the theme of using a beautiful quote (eg. album 1 = life isn't about the amount of breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away).

My albums are in chronological order and aside from that I have a 2011 album as I attend a yearly scrap class each month where we scrap a layout of the highlights of our life from the previous month. I hope to take all I learn from the class and continue to make an album for each year from now.

And last but not least, in keeping with my chronological theme I don't put any of my layouts into the album until i've stamped the date on the back of it. I try my best to make time to do this as soon as i've finished the layout but if I can't then I write the date I finished it on a post-it and attach it to the back of the layout then it goes onto my layout stand. I like to display my latest layout on the layout stand until I replace it with a new one anyway so if the layout is still sitting there a week later then it's probably because i've been lazy and not date stamped them yet. The next time I work in my scrap room I start by stamping the dates on any that need to be done. I know it seems a bit much but for me it's like a scrap time capsule. It shows me how far i've come since I started and more importantly, how much i've learnt since then! You can get so many cool stamps these days with the calendar months not to mention numbers. I bought some lovely calendar month stamps from the Inkadoo range and use the numbers that came with them for the dates. So my date on the back is like '15th July 2011'. (I did mention that I have OCD didn't I!). As I said, it only takes a minute to stamp the date but I figure one day maybe my future family members will look at my albums and see the dates and laugh at all our bad fashions, hairstyles, etc and see what our family was like and what we got up to back then. That's why I scrap! xo
