Buttons and eyelets Empty Buttons and eyelets

Post by vickstar Sat Jan 16, 2010 8:49 pm

Just thought i would let you all know how i store my buttons and eyelets.

I have them all sorted by style/size in little round containers that i got from Cheap as Chips, that screw together to sit 5 sections high. I then have all of these standing on display in an old spice rack!!

Another great way to recycle!! Smile

I've got the stacking containers the same as you Vick, but they just sit on my scrap table. The spice rack idea is GOLD! I think I might have to check out the op shop to see if I can find one to recycle! Buttons and eyelets Icon_wink I only store brads in those containers though. My buttons are all in a big flat divided container, sorted by colour.

Well... i am always on the lookout for better storage solutions, and i found these little draws at Cheap as Chips the other day. They were $20 each, but hold SO much, and have really cleaned up my desk!! Smile

This one holds my brads, charms and eyeltets, all in the space that i had my eyelets in their little jars before:

And this one holds all my buttons, which my DD happily sat down and sorted all into colours for me!! Smile I'm not sure yet what i will put in the bottom draws, but i'm sure i will find something!! Smile

wow love your storage system vicki..........when I first started out I just kept them in their original packets Buttons and eyelets Icon_redface then I got thos flat plastic containers with the dividers from crazy clarks/BigW. They're now all sorted in colours etc.

I also like the idea of using the spice rack - I'd never have thought of that.

I use the various sizes of moccona coffee jars for ribbons/fibres/flowers

I've seen those drawers in Cheap as Chips many a times and have ALWAYS wanted to buy them... don't REALLY need them though. I never had the room when I was scrapping in my bedroom but maybe now I've got another little scrap area maybe I can convince myself...

This is what I do with my brads and eyelets... just little tackle boxes really.

Sorry this is the best pic I've got... I'll take another tomorrow if I remember.

This one has my brads and other misc items like paper clips. The little red things you can see are tiny little round containers that house my teeny tiny brads. Must get better picture! You'll see it much better.

I also have another similar container that's a little smaller that has my eyelets sorted into colour groups. I don't have many and I don't use them much.

I also have small drawers for my buttons & eyelets Alanna Smile within arm reach near my desk. I don't really use a lot of buttons though, maybe that could be in on of our next challenges Smile

Definitely a good idea - maybe for June's dare challenge... I don't use buttons nearly as much as I should considering the size of my collection. Gah, there's so much stuff I need to use more of!
