Guys, this blog post is definately one of the most moving stories I've ever read. Be warned though, you may need some tissues nearby...

What a well-written piece, with poignant accompanying photography.

Wow.....so much of this story could be mine it is kind of scary (although I didn't have the luxury of finding out at a hospital that something was 'wrong' with DD, actually I didn't have the luxury of having anyone with me the day I figured it out - but that is a story for another day.) The bit where she said "I couldn't emotionally handle telling anyone and yet, strangely, I wanted people to know as soon as possible because I knew I needed the troops..." describes my feelings for the longest time. Also the bit about her eldest daughter. I too remember wondering how the heck was I going to tell DS - it was quite possibly one of the hardest things I ever did - but the same as in this story - he really doesn't mind - he loves her just the same. I hope one day that I can tell our story with as much honesty as this one. Thanks for sharing Chantal.

I think she said in there somewhere she is writing a book - I would love to read it. I think her words are made that much more "real" by the accompanying pics too - you can actually see her emotions on her face - its gut-wrenching to look at.

What a powerful thing to read. I hope she found what she needed by writing that....

Thanks for sharing Chantal, it certainly puts the small things into perspective and I think no matter what our pregnancy/birth stories are, I think we can all relate to a part of her story, in some way... I know I can.

Oh my God ... I just wanted to read "a little post" before going to be. Now you got me all choked up. My daughter-in-law is pregnant and all through this I was wondering what would we do if this happened ... I don't know. I'll have to think about it. Reading this, I have the feeling that here too, everything would be ok, I hope.

Well, I'm off to bed. Good night to all

Oh my gosh, what a story, so well written and so raw with emotion. You can actually see her feeling like shes really zoned out in that photo of them in toasting the birth of her child..
It was particularly hard for me to read as i had a still birth with my first daughter early last year and my second daughter is only three months old (only a couple of weeks older than hers actually) .
It brought back a lot of memories for me of what i experienced in both births and how petrified i was all throughout the pregnancy.
People have said to me to write about the experience to give others in the same boat some kind of hope, ... maybe now as i see this.. i will, even to just to thank the people who helped me get through.
Thanks for the link.. it was hard to read, but so important not to.

You're welcome Rebekkah. I'm sorry to hear about your first daughter. That must of been so difficult. It is helpful to read others experiences for sure.

OH yes I read this the other week, someone posted it on FB. So very moving. Yep I think you're right any woman can totally relate to her emotions.
Would love to read the book too.

This was amazing. What a sweet little girl. I have scrolled through her blog just then and have seen how gorgeous her little girls are and obviously how much joy they have in their lives since Nella's arrival. Super sweet to see.
