IRL Crop - what do I bring?
OK - nothing like leaving this to the last minute. Tonight I am off to my first every 'in real life' crop. Any ideas on what I should be bringing with me. I figure I need my cutter, my scissors, my tape and some photos with stuff that I think might go....but is there anything else anyone can think of. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
Are they running classes Ant, or is it just free scrapping time??
Of course you should be taking a printout of our challenges - with enough copies for everybody who will be there - and anything you will need to complete them!! LMAO!! (Sorry, couldn't resist!! I've never been to one, so i can't really help. I will however say, Have fun and make sure you do actually do some scrapping!! )

Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
Don't worry - I let people know about us....I promise! It is just free scrapping time, it runs from 7 -12.....should be fun to meet some people who like scrapping. Some of the work I have seen is very good - so hopefully they might be able to teach me something. Will let you know how it goes.
Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
I have never been to a crop either Ant, so would have no idea. I guess I would just make up some kits to go with a couple of pics and then throw in my essentials - ruler, knife, scissors, tape, glue, pens, stapler, SPRITZ!!!
Oh, don't forget to write down the dates of the photos were taken - there is nothing worse than going to journal details and not having the date on hand.
Hmmm...other than that, like Vick said, just take your challenge list!!!
Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
You have to be very organized with what you are wanting to do. Make up kits with photos, papers, embellishments & journalling with an idea of your LO and include your basic tools. You can usually use other peoples equipment (e.g. cuttlebug for cutting titles or similar) but usually it is mostly a social night and really fun way of getting ideas from other like minded people. Don't be discouraged if not much gets done because you will learn and see a lot of different techniques. Just go with the flow! (P.S I never get a LO finished when I go to a crop night as I work better alone but I still love them)

Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
Have fun on your first IRL crop! I've only been to one, but they had stuff you can buy if you needed something 'cause the Anna of Anna's Craft Cupboard was there with loads of stuff!! Don't forget to bring stuff to share around to eat. Everyone brings some food to share!

Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
Well I think that maybe I should jump in here as I actually run this type of event here weekly:
Ant ring the shop first and ask them what you need to bring...for instance..if you come to my place for a crop you need nothing except your photos and some embellishments if you want....everything else is supplied (tapes, cutter, ribbons, flowers, popdots for layering, cardstocks & pp's too)
If you want to take your own product instead of buying then do so....you may be able to match a pp that you didn't have any thing at home to go with while you are there. (just ring and ask them, I promise they won't think your being silly!!)
It should be a lot of fun for you Anthea Enjoy...I hope that this helps you a little bit!!

I go to regular monthly crops Anthea but I was out all day and I'm probably too late to give advice now. You'll have loads of fun! Enjoy it!

Re: IRL Crop - what do I bring?
Sorry - I got distracted. Had a good night but achieved little. I started Chantals challenge, but had to do what I could from memory because I left the details at home... . It was so nice to be around people who love scrapping as much as me - the girls were all really talented and their LOs were quite amazing. It turned out that you bring pretty much everything with you. I had only a little bit compared to some....some people had boxes of stuff - I only had a bag. Food and drink was provided (but I knew that already). I got to play with a cricut.......OMG - I sooooooo want one of them. I learnt some new things and overal think that it was really worth it. I am going to try and make it there on a monthly basis. Thanks everyone for your tips....it certainly made it easier going in there having the right stuff with me. (Oh - and it is soooo cool, everyone shares their punches and stuff, so you get to play with new things without actually having to purchase them)

So glad to hear you had a good night Anthea! Reading what you had to say almost makes me want to go to one! (Although don't know how much I'd get done, I usually do most of my stuff after 10pm at night! )
