You will be alright mate Smile So many people who died from it in Mexico is because they don't have the hygienic conditions or the medical supplies like we do. Everytime there has been suspected case, they seem to turn out be to negative. Its just the bird flu all over again, did that cause any deaths here in Australia? I can't remember.
It is just the press again telling us what they want us to hear - but don't get me on my soapbox about them Rolling Eyes Mad LOL

I know with being pregnant anything will be worrying.
Just seen the news and a kid in NZ didn't even know he had it just a sniffle and sore throat. And apparently they are now saying that not that many have died in Mexico as previously report - great responsible reporting ah? Rolling Eyes

It's just next week we have Beef Week here in Rocky, so a lot of foreigners etc and the media were just going wild here locally about the precautions etc...and Cooper has a cold, and has passed it on to me...I can hardly talk, I know that's tragic lol Clynt says it's the most peace and quiet he's got in a long time...revenge will be sweet when I pass it on to the man I love *evil smirk*

Don't talk about beef, I can't give blood because of mad cow disease (don't you dare say anything LOL) as I lived in the UK in the early 1990's. Whilst I don't have it (I said don't you dare ROFL) its a precaution and apparently I can never give blood damm frustrating cause only 2% population have my bloody type.
Oh how I love revenge  but I usually don't need an excuse with my man I just love being a b***h to him he is such a baby

Victoria if it's any consolation.... I'm not pregnant, and I worry about this kind of thing too !
Whilst I know the media have an informative role to play, I think sometimes they go too far and just make everything scary !
With Caden starting daycare he's been sick on and off since beginning, so I have been worrying myself sick with that too !
I'm sure we'll all be right.

Cheers,

Michelle W

Cooper goes to daycare twice a week, because the other two kids here are in their teens, almost, I want him to associate with toddlers etc around his age group, have that interaction, and he loves it...only i've kept him home this week with his cold, and i mean it's only natural he's going to get one and with that many kids it's sure to spread fast but it's easy as i work from home so can afford to keep him home when he's sick, but what about working parents who have to send their kids to daycare, sick or well...that's tough, on not only the child but the other children at daycare...it's one of those situations i guess...blah talk about going off topic Smile

I agree with Michelle... Not saying that it is nothing to worry about but I do think the press sensationalize things and make them sound worse than they actually are...
When I was pregnant I stressed over germs also... I think it is our protective motherly instinct coming out in us!!!

My sister and her hubby flew to L.A. on Friday morning, as he has a medical conference to attend. Whilst he did agree that the media were sensationalising the situation, they did take some masks and a dose of Tamiflu with them just in case, due to L.A's close proximity to Mexico. Were they not travelling, he said in his professional opinion that we have nothing to worry about here.
I think we have other diseases that are more concerning in our part of the world at the moment, such as the rise in whooping cough and measles cases.

They said in the news today that the swine flu appears to be slowing down, and so far so good, no reported cases here !
But whooping cough... well there has been a case at Jacob's public school and a case at Caden's daycare, so I think you're probably right Soupie !

Cheers,
