Daily ramblings Empty Re: Daily ramblings

Post by robjud Sun Oct 11, 2009 6:23 pm

Life seems very busy at the moment. I haven't got any of the challenges done yet and can't see me getting to do any scrapping until the end of next week. Today the kids had photo day at the local Performing Arts HQ. I was there for an hour at lunchtime with DD for her ballet and then 2 hours in the afternoon with both kids for their acro. It ran an hour late as they had a lot of makeup to do. In between times DH and I have been putting pickets on our new gate. We have been wanting to get a new gate ever since we moved in 16 yrs ago. Finally, replaced the fence at the end of last year. We've umed and ahed about the gate for ages as we have a particularly wide driveway. Finally decided to go with a metal frame and actually found someone local to do it. Gates were installed on Tuesday. Now all I've got to do is fill in all the screw holes and give the pickets a final coat.
Am working 3 days next week in stead of my usual 2. Then on Saturday DS is supposed to be swimming at Melbourne Aquatic Centre representing his swim school at relay day so that's another Saturday gone. I think we've got something on every Saturday until December. The silly season seems to have started a lot earlier this year!

I'm with you Judith!! The silly season certainly seems to have started early this year......between being sick and trying to get everything done its a bit hectic!! I seem to think that we live a faster paced lifestyle these days, I never seem to have a day where I can just sit and do nothing!!! I guess with little kids its the way it is!! At least the weather has been a bit nicer lately here in Victoria and I have managed to get out and do some weeding in the garden.....I love looking at all the flowers and hearing the canaries sing for me while I work!!

I'm agree with you all about the hecticness hitting us early this year! Daily ramblings Icon_eek We have added to the madness by getting our kithen renovated - starting this coming Wednesday! I will be without a working kitchen for about 2 weeks. I've started packing some of the things in boxes but still got a looooong way to go. They are demolishing 2 small walls as well and I have to cover everything in my living areas since we have a very open-plan sort of house. It's all very exciting but I'm sad that I probably won't have a chance to do any of the challenges this time. Oh well, there's always next month! Daily ramblings Icon_smile

Takes a huge toll V!! I pray that you have lots of help. Its not easy, I do remember what it was like!! I raised my 3 boys on my own for 11 years and when the youngest was almost 2 I did a landscaping course just to top it all off!!! Wasn't easy and now days I look back and wonder how on earth did I do that???????
Thoughts are with you Victoria, take care

Hi girls, won't be here much today. Am off to the Royal Childrens Hospital with Angela DD2 as she has her eye appointment today! One of the horrid things about JA is the side affects and eyes are a major one. Unfortunately for DD2 she also has a marker in her genes that says she is pre disposed to a diease that causes blindness in kids who have had or do have JA (Juvenile Arithitis). DD2 is in remission and has been for a couple of years, but the threat never goes away with her eyes.
So for the rest of the day what am I doing this morning until we leave at 1.00pm?? Well putting the slow cooker on so we can avoid the takeaways.....washing....Pete has run out of singlets Daily ramblings Icon_redface .....dishers........general cleaning up!! Maybe sticking my head in here every little while to see what you beautiful people are up to!!! Daily ramblings Icon_lol
Have a fantastic day ladies and get those fantastic challenges underway!!

Kathie, hope everything was OK for you guys today!

It's a nice enough day here today, but I unfortunately have DP hanging around as he did a really early shift today and was home at breakfast time! (I am used to my space, so this has thrown my routine out of whack!) Daily ramblings Icon_evil
Hoping to scrap another challenge tonight...

Sue, i hate it when DH is home during the day, it stuffs everybody up!! Daily ramblings Icon_evil Especially when we get used to jumping in the car and going out when ever we feel like it, then when he is home, i feel like i should be cleaning the house the whole time, and he doesn't like it when i spend too much time on the computer of if i scrap during the day!! Daily ramblings Icon_evil Why can't he just stay at work all day everyday, and just be home at night and on weekends like normal people?? He works 12 hr shifts, 2 days, 2 nights, then 4 days off, and by the time the 4 days are up, we are all ready for him to go back to work!! Smile

Just to keep you all in the loop. DD isn't getting any better. We spent the morning at the local hospital and have come home for the arvo for me to monitor her, with full intent of bringing her to another hospital this evening if there is no improvement by about 6 tonight. She has fallen asleep on the lounge room floor (God love her). She has managed to keep down about 1 pedialite icypole since this morning, but there has been no pee. It probably is a bug, but it is particulary nasty and she is really wiped from it, so they may admit her for hydration tonight. Daily ramblings Icon_sad Let's hope she picks up soon!

Anthea, lots of love to you all, it is so hard to watch your children suffer and not be able to do anything to help. I hope she is feeling better soon, but by what you have said it sounds likely that she may require a trip in tonight for some extra fluids. If so, take care, and let us know how she is getting on.
