Challenge 3: Made with Love

This challenge set by me is about those family recipes that everyone fights for (well the finished product anyway), or the recipes that no one will share or the ones that have been in the family for years.

This Vanilla slice was made by my Mum (with lots of love) for her son in laws who go nuts for it.

I would like to see the following on your LO:

Patterned paper as a base,
At least 2 flowers (either storebought or homemade),
Some distressing
and finally I would like to see an embellishment cluster.

For an extra added bonus point - you are required to add a charm somewhere on your LO, but it must be visible.

Well my interpretation of this challenge would be that the subject of the LO has to be about the family recipe, but not necessarily the photo.
Ant, do you want to clarify this???

Yes that's what I was thinking too Sue. But that's still food. For example I'm considering scrapping the actual recipe.

just says about though... so i could just have a pic of my gran with the recipie in a hidden journal tag??? etc if u get wat i mean of it not being specific

As far as I can see it could just be journalling about a particular story. Doesn't actually say anything about pics.

I'm gonna jump in and say run with that Bec, cos the whole idea of scrapping is to tell the stories!!

sounds like a good one - I've lots of recipes that can be used here - not neccessairly OLD ones, but family faves none the less....

Perfectly put Sue- thanks. The photo could be anything...in fact...there doesn't even have to be any photo. I want the LO to be about food in some way. Sorry for the confusion.

OMG I'm sooo thrilled here!! I found what I was looking for for this challenge Actually I'm stupidly crying haha

It's nan's original fruit cake recipe!! It's handwritten by her and sooo fragile, I'm feeling very blessed to have the chance to scrap it!!! I was lucky enough to have some of nans old hand written recipe albums (yeah the old no-no albums for photo's haha) passed on to me when she passed away many years ago - and in one of them was this recipe - nan made everyone's Christmas cakes, puddings and wedding cakes with this recipe It's very very precious and I'm soooo happy that this challenge came up so I got the prompt to go find it

this is what scrapbooking is all about!!!

Oh thank you so much Treens, I was struggling with this but I think I too have an old recipe my nana wrote out for me before she died. Now to remember where it is.
